Cilantro-Lime Sweet Potato Steak Fries.

Perfectly cooked steak fries are the best. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside…delicious. These steak fries take on a summer flare with a hefty coating of citrusy lime zest and cilantro, with just a touch of spice. This recipe has become my favorite, I prefer it by a long shot over classic white potato steak fries.

Cooking on the grill? Just throw these guys in some tinfoil!

Cilantro-Lime Sweet Potato Steak Fries

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • zest of two limes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with tin foil.
  2. Cut the potatoes length-wise into thick wedges and spread evenly on the baking sheet, making sure not to overcrowd.
  3. Drizzle potatoes with oil, making sure they are evenly coated. Then sprinkle on the salt, pepper, garlic powder, lime zest, and chopped cilantro.
  4. Bake for 35 minutes, making sure to flip the wedges a few times to crisp up on each side.

What kind of oil are you using? I'd generally use coconut or olive but I am curious as to what you used and about how much do you think you need? These look yummy ! I like the lime/cilantro combo.

I use coconut often too! The other two I opt for is olive or grapeseed oil.

Hello - what a great recipe! I just wanted to check-in and see if you had any suggestion on how to speed up the slicing process for these fries. I love sweet potato fries, I just hate how long it takes to chop them up. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.

I love sweet potatoes and I never would have thought of this flavor combination. I just found your website this week and have been drooling over your recipes. I'm hoping to have some time in the next few days to try some out. Thank you so much for all of the time and effort you put into what you do!
