Essential Gluten Free Baking Guides: Release Day Giveaway Extravaganza (Day 3)

by Brittany on March 1, 2012

This morning I nearly jumped out of bed in excitement. March 1st is the coveted day I have been waiting for..for months! When you start the process of writing a book as we did in June the finish line feels eons away. And somehow we are here.. we made it. Shipments will go out to all that pre-ordered TODAY!  With the arrival of each I hope you feel the love  vested into them.

If you are hearing about these books  for the first time today I highly recommend you take a few moments to read the page dedicated to explaining their content + a FAQ.

To celebrate this release my co-author Iris Higgins and I have been sharing our very favorite baking ingredients from the companies that we love! These are the ingredients that we used to develop each and every recipe. We wanted you to also have only the best! The last two days of giveaways are STILL OPEN. Go Enter before Midnight Tonight!

Tuesday:   Gift Packages from Big Tree Farms and Navitas Naturals
Wednesday: Gift Packages from Nunaturals , Simply Organic and Triumph Dining.

Today’s Giveaway is extra special. During our recipe testing process it became quickly obvious that some flour companies out shined others in both quality and price!  We are so pleased to be giving away giant flour gift packages that will stock up your gluten free pantry for months to come! Plus, wait till you see the gift basket from Wholesome Sweeteners!!

What are we giving away today?

1. Nuts.com Gift Pack:
I learned about Nuts.com when she first began getting into grain-free baking. I won’t ever forget the day I found their website. It is PACKED not only a ginormous selection of flours but also some really cool ingredients that I knew I would have a ton of fun experimenting with in the kitchen. For the gluten free baker, Nuts.com is paradise.. and their same day shipping and phenominal customer service is all just added bonus.  Today they are giving away two gift packs. Iris is giving away flours on her blog that correspond to the flours in book 2, and I am giving away flours that go with the recipes in Book 1.
Enter here to win  a 1 lb bag of each from Nuts.com  Almond Flour, Coconut Flour, Rice Flour, Tapioca Flour, Potato Starch +  Their NEW organic chia energy squares.
Head over to Iris’s blog to enter to win the other gift pack from Nuts.com
2. Dakota Prairie Gift Pack:
Dakota Prairie has a dedicated gluten-free facility that produces finely milled flours. We loved working with their flours in our recipes, and found that their rice flour produced baked goods with a phenominal light texture. Finely ground flour is often quite expensive- but not with this company! You get quality at a fantastic price point. After giving their products a try, I promise you will never again feel tempted to pick up the gritty gluten free flours found at most stores.  Dakota Prairie wants to help you get started with baking all of our recipes, so they are giving away two gift packs, one corresponding to each book.
You can leave a comment here to win a bag of each flour from book 1:  Amaranth Flour, Garbanzo Flour, Quinoa Flour, Millet Flour,  Rice Flour and the starches : Potato, Arrowroot and Tapioca.
Leave a comment at Iris’s blog to win the flours from book 2.
3. Wholesome Sweeteners Gift Pack:
Our guides go into extensive detail about various types of unrefined sugars, and how we use them in our baking. Wholesome Sweeteners Agave Nectar and Sucanat were both products that we recommended to our readers, and we know you’ll enjoy this gift basket they will be sending to one of you!

All of these giveaways are open to addresses in the continental U.S. only. There will be eight winners for this giveaway (winners posted on Friday), and five winners for the same giveaway on Iris’s site today as well! You have until midnight today so start getting those entries in! Here are all the ways you can enter. Please leave a separate comment for each entry, and you MUST leave an e-mail address or way for me to contact you.

  1. Leave a comment telling me which gift pack you would like to win.
  2. Visit one of the sponsoring companies and tell me something you like about them (they are truly awesome companies).

Iris and I appreciate all the kindess and support you have given us- a special thank you goes out to our recipe testers and photographer Matt Calabrese /Calabrese Studios. Among many others!  We hope these books empower you to make whatever your gluten free hearts desire!

Good morning!! Yesterday I said I was not real outgoing when it comes to giveaways, but I’m really getting into this! :) I just visited the Dakota Prairie website and I have to say I am truely impressed. One of the first things I saw was “dedicated gluten free facility”, which I LOVE, then I was blown away by their brief facts “gluten free is not a TREND!”. I would be tickled to tears if I won the Dakota prairie pack, but either way it looks like they will be getting my orders in the future. It seems they really love and respect the gluten free community by the way they present themselves, and are not on the market to make a quick buck off an already expensive market.

I visited the nuts.com website and like that they’re a “one stop shop” for my favorite snacks – chocolate, nuts, fruit, tea! And, they are a company with a long history – which I appreciate.

I just visited the wholesome sweeteners website and once again, I’m in love. The website is super easy to navigate, and surprisingly their prices are inexpensive compared to what I have come across. I wouldn’t mind winning this giveaway so I could try the different sweeteners. Currently I only use palm sugar in my baking bc I can pick it up at the grocery store, and it’s the healthiest/cheapest on hand alternative to cane sugar. I’m always scared to try different sweeteners bc they tend to be expensive and you never really know what you’re going to get or how it’s going to taste.

I am experimenting with other flours for the rest of my family and it all seems so daunting sometimes. Your book looks amazing and I am so excited about it!! It looks comprehensive but easy and SO delicious!

Ever since you mentioned Nuts.com on fb I have been a BIG fan of them. I love how fast the shipment comes and the huge selection of different nut and seed flours. It has allowed me to create amazing different types of baked goods:)

My books I ordered have left Amazon and are on their way to our door. Yipppeeee.
For my selection of prize would have to be the signed copy of your book. This way I will have the signed one for myself and gift the copy I ordered to my best friend:)

Yay! The day is HERE! Your Baking Guides are exactly that – “Essential.” As a stubborn DIYer, I go through trial after trial in my own baking to discover the ins n’ outs of food-sensitive friendly baking. I learn so much, but with the satisfaction also comes a lot of initial disappointment & frustration. While I’m used to it, someone new to gluten-free baking may not be able to brave those initial challenges.

Enter your books. :)

I love nuts.com so much – their selection of certified organic and certified GF products is truly astounding and a treasure to food-sensitive bakers. Winning that prize package would be pretty awesome. :)
