High Protein Iced Lemon Latte. (Dairy/Sugar/Soy/Gluten Free)

by Brittany on August 28, 2012

First of all, I must begin with a massive thank you to the hundreds of you that were so kind to leave me a birthday message on my facebook page yesterday! I’m excited for year 28, so many incredible things have come about since starting this blog, including many many friendships. I’m so thankful for all of you!  For my birthday I created a multi tiered Grain. Egg and Sugar Free Brownie cake with layers of sun-butter frosting. I’ll be sharing it here this week.

With fall right around the corner, and some of you back to the kids in school grind, I thought I would share another one of my fast meal solutions. Sugar is a problem for me, which severely limits the variety of smoothies that I can make. My mojito detox smoothie recipe is delicious, but I needed some variety. My friend Amber Shea recently posted a simple Lemon Meringue Protein Shot recipe that caught my attention. I took the idea one step further.

This Iced Latte is super frothy. It tastes like a tropical drink. Thanks to all the protein it keeps me full for a few hours!

High Protein Iced Lemon Latte.

1 cup Milk (Any variety, dairy or non dairy. I use goat milk!)
6 Ice Cubes
3 Tbs Lemon Juice (or Lime)
1 Scoop of Gluten Free Protein Powder (We love Goatein, Vanilla Raw Protein and SunWarrier Vanilla)
1 Serving Wellesse Liquid Protein. (2 Tbs)

Stevia to taste. (or other liquid sweetener of choice)

Combine all ingredients in blender, until frothy and delicious!

Aww, yay! I love your take on it – calling it a “latte” somehow makes it sound exta-delicious. ;) Thanks for the linkage, and happy belated b-day again!

It totally tastes like a latte! All the froth on top. So good.
And thank you :)

I just got the part 1 of your new cookbook and I’m itching to start baking! It’s wonderful to read a gf cookbook that uses the healthy flours. I also love that you have interviewed many of my favorite bloggers and I’m finally starting to understand what kind of flour to use when, if that makes any sense!

Makes lots of sense as that was exactly what we hoped to help people do when they read through the books! Hope you enjoy the recipes as much as the content! :)

Gosh, sorry I somehow missed your birthday, but happy belated! I can’t believe all the good you have done for so many of us at your ripe young age. Figures a Virgo like you would be crafting healthy recipes, with so much care and detail, for the finicky/allergenic bodies in our world. I look forward (too much maybe) for that birthday cake recipe. ;-)

This may be a stupid question but the lemon doesn’t make the milk curdle at all??
