Seasonal Sunday (05- 08-11)

by Brittany on May 8, 2011

Welcome to this weeks Seasonal Sunday!

Sorry this post is up a little later than usual- I was having some issues getting into WordPress last evening. Understanding computer’s is not my gift in life unfortunatly. :)

We just returned from Chicago (The Gluten and Allergen Free Expo) & D.C – the 1 in 133 Cake Building Summit. Both events were a whirlwind of excitement.

Its wonderful to be home and back in my kitchen and on my computer WITH internet again. I have several new recipes to share this week (Yes, I know this poor site has been quite neglected the past 7 days- I’ll make up for it)

As I’m getting a late start with this post today- I’ll share one of my favorite recipes from the reserves.

Gluten Free/Vegan Lemon & Rosemary Olive Oil Cake

(My friend Matt Calabrese took this lovely photo!)

This week I would like to feature the following recipes:

Vegan/Gluten free Strawberry Shortcake from Without Adornment
Raw Curried Cashew Chard Wraps from Gluten Free Cat
(Gluten/Dairy/Soy Free) Grapefruit Yogurt Cake from Live Free, Gluten Free
Avocado Pie with Nut Crust from Wheat Free Meat Free
Shaved Asparagus Salad and Raw Lemon Poppyseed Bars from Diet, Desserts and Dogs

And now its your turn to share.

The Rules:

  1. Recipes must contain one Seasonal Ingredient (See below for the list of foods that are currently in season)
  2. You may link up old or new recipes. Wonderful food is always worth sharing! Feel free to share up to 6 recipes each week.
  3. Gluten Free Recipes are NOT required- this event is meant to inspire ideas for all. However I do ask that if your recipe is Gluten Free that you give it the “GF” Label.
  4. Please include a link in your blog in reference to Seasonal Sundays so that your readers may also participate.

This event was launched to help prove that going Gluten Free can be easier than one might think! Every day a different blogger will be  sharing tips and recipes to help guide you! My post for this event will happen this coming Saturday. I’ll be sharing a Healthy Allergy-Free Quick Bread recipe  with easy flavor variations. To check out the full Schedule go here.

Hope you all have an absolutely wonderful week!

Thanks so much for highlighting my wraps! They are SOOOO yummy. I'm bringing them to a raw potluck next week. After the Expo I've existed on smoothies, so I have nothing to link up this week! Miss you!
