Sugar & Dairy Free Chocolate Shake + $200 Value Wellesse Liquid Vitamin Giveaway.

by Brittany on July 10, 2012

Vitamins are important. Especially important for those of us with autoimmune issues. A balanced body with all of its nutritional needs being met is far less likely to be riddled with autoimmune attacks.

But finding vitamins that are certified gluten free? Thats rare. For that reason I am so pleased to introduce all of you to my sponsor- Wellesse. Creator of great tasting, easy to take liquid vitamins. I have been approached over the past year by a number of companies interested in sponsoring me, and many did not fit within what I’m trying to promote. When I learned that not only did Wellesse have gluten free vitamins but also sugar free & dairy free (except for 1 product) I was thrilled.

Just a few weeks ago I had the privilege of flying out to Seattle for a week to teach a class at the GIG conference with Iris Higgins. During my stay we also spent a wonderful afternoon at the Wellesse plant! What a great time- we watched from start to finish the fascinating process in which their vitamins are made. I can tell you from first hand experience- they are serious about gluten free safety!

These are the giant mixing tanks that make big batches of carefully tested vitamins.

Where the packaging begins! Bottles comes out of this machine and are organized so that they can be filled.

The bottles are filled.

The  lids placed on and sealed.

Time for the labels!

This was my favorite part to watch!

After that, the plastic label was adhered to the bottles and they went into packaging. So cool to see the process start to finish!

These vitamins taste more than good enough to take on their own. But, we really enjoy throwing them into smoothies. As many of you know sugary fruit smoothies are not an option for me at the moment as I ward off some candida issues. But, abstaining from  fruit does not mean living without smoothies and shakes. With the use of a creamy avocado all kinds of amazing beverages can be made! Today I am sharing a very simple, basic and healthy Chocolate Shake recipe that can be modified in many ways to meet a variety of different dietary needs! Today I’m highlighting the Wellesse Calcium with Vitamin D liquid vitamin BUT  because chocolate taste great with both citrus flavors and berries – this recipe  will compliment the flavor of ANY Wellesse Liquid Vitamin.

Sugar & Dairy Free Chocolate Shake

1/3 Cup Soaked Nuts (any variety should do- I like Hazelnuts, Macadamia or Cashew)
1 Avocado (pit and skin removed)
1 Tbs of Cocoa (or Carob) Powder
4 Ice Cubes
1/2-2/3 Cup Cold Water , Milk or Yogurt (Dairy or nondairy)

Stevia to taste
Pinch Salt
1 serving of Wellesse Calcium with Vitamin D

Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Note: For those looking to avoid nuts- they can be left out. I like to add them in for a little extra flavor and protein. Make sure to soak the nuts for a few hours so that they fully blend.

I think it's good to get your vitamin levels tested to see if you're deficient and take accordingly. Since most American's are deficient in vitamin D that would have to be my answer!
