About a month ago- after getting my haircut at the Scott Miller- I felt enticed to check out the new Breathe Yoga right next door. I was psyched when I figured out I would actually be able to order a smoothie off of their lengthy menu that I had been hearing such great things about. They carry every non-dairy milk alternative that a girl could long for. Like many- I have a weakness for chai- so I ordered a Chai smoothie with almond milk and it was bliss. The kicker- it contained banana. I normally HATE hate hate bananas in smoothies. I don’t know why, just something about them really offends my taste buds.
Me the Banana in smoothies hating girl- spent the last 3 weeks craving that well.. Banana Chai Smoothie. So as I do with any other food I love- I made it myself.
Directions are as with any smoothie- throw everything into the blender. Sweeten it to your liking- I never like to give a specific amount for this as everyone has their own preference. The spices can be adjusted too. Though be careful with the cardamon, ginger and cloves. They are wonderful- but can quickly take over flavor if used in excess.
This recipe will make 16oz.
Ingredients
1 1/2 Frozen Bananas
1 tray ice cubes
3/4 cup Almond Milk
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Stevia to taste (or other natural sugar)
1/4 Tsp Ground Ginger
1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
1/4 Tsp Cardamon (ground)
1/8 tsp White Pepper
1/4 Tsp Cloves (ground)
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon

Have you tried garam masala yet? You totally should if you haven't! It looks as yummy as you made it sound on Facebook.
Ohh yeah! Love it. Use it often with Indian Cooking (which of course is the obvious place to use it) I should start experimenting using it in other places- its such a fantastic mix of spices.
I love it in my smoothies!
Oh, I'm so intrigued with the white pepper! I love chai, so I'll definitely have to try this smoothie.
Its adds just the perfectly tiny bit of kick! You could get away with using black pepper- but I prefer white pepper in this by a long shot!
