Seasonal Sunday (02-20-11)

by Brittany on February 20, 2011

Happy Seasonal Sunday!

Hope you all had a wonderful week. We certainly did- on Thursday Rochester  was graced with some serious sunshine and temps in the 50′s. It was glorious.

The Sunshine put me in the mood for something tropical. Despite the fact that oranges are a winter produce item- they remind me of the beach and sunny skies.  At the Supermarket yesterday I was happy to see Blood Oranges- so they served as the inspiration for my  seasonal submission today!

Blood Orange Cake (Gluten/Dairy/Soy/Corn & Refined Sugar Free)

This Week I would like to Feature 2 Fantastic Blogs!

First up is Mysteries Internal. Last week a recipe for Stuffed Peppers was shared which sounded wonderful! Check out also the recipe for Acorn Squash Stuffed with Polenta and Spinach.

Thank you for hosting the linky! I love finding new gluten-free meals for my family. The one I posted is naturally gluten-free (no substitutions needed!).

I posted 2 recipes: one for a traditional borscht, simple but so delicious and perfect for winter! And accidentally double-posted one for curried roast chicken leg with spicy sweet potato chips– a more exotic kick to a simple roast chicken. (: Thanks for inviting me to participate and for hosting this event!

Hi Brittany. Thank you for the comment on my blog. Much appreciated. I just linked up the recipe fro the clementine cake above. I truly enjoy meeting new blogger and discovering new blog. I have been baking a lot of gluten-free recipes lately. A good friend of mine is allergic to gluten and she's a joy to feed.
The blood orange cake looks superb and I cannot wait to give it a try.
I hope you come and visit me again sometime. Have a great day.
Michael

Thank you so much for hosting! I had some computer problems this weekend so I'm a little late in linking up. I brought my Spring/Summer Rolls this week. I can't wait to go visiting and see all the wonderful dishes. Your Blood Orange cake looks soooo good. I've never had a blood orange before but I actually bought some at the store earlier today to try. Have a great week, Candace
