The Essential Gluten Free Baking Guides Giveaway Extravaganza! (Day 1)

by Brittany on February 28, 2012

On Thursday, The Essential Gluten-Free Baking Guides will officially be available and in the mail to anyone who has pre-ordered them! (If you want in on part of this first shipment be sure to put in this order today or tomorrow!)

This 9 month project was life changing. Iris Higgins and I deconstructed Gluten Free Baking to is core. We spent endless time with 12 different flours. On a daily basis we are asked questions like “Can I replace Almond Flour with Coconut?” “I can’t have rice flour, what can I use instead? “I can’t have eggs, how do I replace them?”. “I don’t like to use xanthan gum, how do I replace it?” These guides are dedicated to those questions! It can take  years to become a proficient gluten free baker. We decided to spill  all of our time earned baking secrets into each and every page.  The knowledge you will learn will allow you to look at any gluten free recipe and have a solid understanding in how to convert it to meet your dietary needs, saving you time and money! We wanted to answer the questions that have never been answered before.  Each of these goals were accomplished and we could not be more excited to lovingly share all of it with you!

And then of course, there are the recipes! Our testers were a happy bunch! The Cinnamon Roll recipe pictured above  brought tears of joy when I taught a class at the Dallas Gluten and Allergen Free Expo. Nilla Wafers, English Muffins, Bread made without all of the most common allergens… there is something in these books for everyone! Want to know more? Read the answers to these FAQ.

In celebration of this big release for the next three days, Iris and I will be giving away daily gift baskets from companies that we love! All of the gift baskets have been donated from the companies themselves, so be sure to send them lots of love for sharing their goodies with us all! And these companies were chosen for one reason: We use their products regularly. You’ll notice in our books that when we talk about different ingredients, we also let you know which companies we prefer. We know that when it comes to baking, quality of ingredients is extremely important, and we want you to have only the best when you try our recipes!

What are we giving away today?

Big Tree Farms Gift Pack:
Big Tree Farms is sending one lucky winner one 8.5 ounce bag each of Ginger, Turmeric, and Cinnamon Flavored Coconut Palm Sugar plus a jar of Korintje Cinnamon Honey. We use their coconut palm sugar all the time in our baking, these flavored versions are spectacular! This giveaway is open to continental U.S. addresses only.

Navitas Naturals Gift Pack:
Navitas Naturals is giving away a great sampler that includes flax seeds, chia seeds, palm sugar, and organic sweet cacao nibs. Many of our xanthan/guar gum free recipes use flax or chia seeds, so this gift pack will definitely be a must-have for your gluten-free kitchen! This giveaway is open to addresses in the continental U.S. and Canada.

How to enter:
There will be two winners for this giveaway (winners posted on Friday), and two winners for the same giveaway on Iris’s site today as well! You have until midnight on Thursday so start getting those entries in! Here are all the ways you can enter. Please leave a separate comment for each entry, and you MUST leave an e-mail address or way for me to contact you. Each Entry increases your chances of winning!

I would love to win the Navitas Naturals gift pack. I am so excited about your new book. I love you are publishing things that are xanthum gum free. I am switching my kitchen to gluten-free and my hubby has a problem with weird sounding ingredients. He may make fun of the chia seeds and call them “hippy food,” but he will still eat them.

Reply

Jess K February 28, 2012 at 5:17 pm

I honestly love how easy it is to navigate the Navitas web site. The clear icons for each food item makes it easy for those of us with failing eyesight to locate the correct items.

I think it is awesome how Big Tree Farms includes native Balinese traditions and practices in their products and techniques.

Just visited both Navitas and Big Tree’s sites. Navitas was nice since they offered all sorts of things, like Mulberries, which i’ve never tried before. AND they offered recipes for each item they sell also! Pretty neat!! On Big Tree’s site, I like that they offer ‘seed chips’ (hard to find in a regular store) and customer created recipes from their products! Both are terrific sites.

Brittany, what great exposure for those companies. Love what happens with free enterprise and motivation, don’t you? The Big Tree Farms site made me want to buy one of everything they offer, let alone I felt like I was in a National Geographic Travel’s Slideshow. The Navitas website isn’t only beautiful. The art of eating chocolate just expanded through their products. Both sites introduce the idea that there’s sugar and then there’s fascinating sugars from other sources. Thanks a mil!

Something I like about Navitas Naturals is that they make sure that each of their products is free of additives and trans fats. Its really important to us that our food doesnt have anything yucky added to it, and I love finding companies that feel the same way!

Navitas Naturals produces awesome products. I am already in love with the palm sugar because I use it in all of the recipes from the Spunky Coconut. I checked out the Navitas website and found they have lots of gluten free recipes too. I just wish I had all their products since that is mostly what they use. With that being said, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the Navitas giveaway!

I love that Navitas Naturals is a certified organic company! Also love that it is based out of California like me! ;) jk! :) It is more bank for the buck and I love natural stuff without all the added stuff! I am Gluten free and Dairy free, and there is a lot of “added” “non organic” stuff added that include Gluten and Dairy. I love that there is no “hidden” ingredients! I feel like Big Tree Farms really cares about the community and the quality of their products! Nutrition is a HUGE part of my life with my mother being a dietitian and making sure my husband is healthy serving our country! I honestly have not heard of these companies before.. but now I am a believer! Thank you for bringing it to my attention! I am now a customer! :) Thank you for the opportunity!

First of all, Congratulations! More than what I want from this giveaway, this is really about celebrating the accomplishments of you and Iris. I cannot wait to dive in to your books and I am so looking forward to the way your books will open up so many doors to the food-sensitive.

So now that I’ve got that off my chest, the Big Tree Farms prize would be sweet. (lol)
