How much fun is halloween? I hate being scared. I hate watching scary movies.. and going on haunted hayrides. But, theres just something that I love about the cold seasonal chill that sets in, and the halloween foods and decorations that start showing up. My husband LOVES halloween.. so despite my hate for scary movies- I do enjoy the opportunity to snuggle with him with my face covered while he watches them. And I LOVE surprising him with halloween treats, and decking the house out.

Every year halloween day when Rich (my hubs) is at work, I prepare a huge spread of food and decorate the living room. I lay out of buffet of spooky snacks- and light lots of black candles. And then when he gets home he watches a maranthon of scary movies (and I snuggle)  while we stuff ourselves silly.

This year I will be making these adorable mummy pizzas!

To make this recipe- you have several options.

You can use either my Grain Free Thick Crust Recipe, Grain free thin crust recipe OR the Cauliflower crust recipe.  So this recipe should work for just about anyone ( the thin crust and cauli crust are both egg free.)

Paleo Mummy Pizzas

Directions:

  1. Pick your pizza crust recipe of choice. The Thick Crust. Thin Crust or Cauliflower Crust.
  2. Make your pizza dough – divide it up into 4-6 smaller circles and par bake (according to recipe directions of the pizza you selected to make.  Cover each pizza with sauce- one olive cut in half for eyes and then cut slices of mozzarella cheese into strips and lay them on the pizza criss-crossing to create a mummy look.
  3. Bake as directed according to the recipe you select.  NOTE: You will probably need to decrease your baking times since the pizzas are mini. Just keep an eye on them. As a general rule they are finished when lightly golden brown and firm to touch and the cheese has just barely melted.

Note: Nondairy Cheese could be used too!! They key with the nondairy is that it can never go under the broiler..it BURNS. But as long as your heat your pizza from below (a regular oven setting) it usually will melt just fine!

Happy Halloween!

These are adorable! My daughter and I love Halloween ( well she is only 13 months, but I know she will love it when she’s older lol)! She can’t have eggs or dairy, so I’ll use one of your egg-free crust options and use strips of zucchini as the wraps instead of cheese. Thank you so much for the recipes and ideas! It is a relief to find recipes that she can have so she isn’t left out of the fun ^_^ Have fun snuggling! ;)
