Servings

1 (16oz) serving

Ingredients

  • 2 Kiwi Peeled
  • 1 cup Frozen Peaches
  • 1/2 cup Greens: Such as Spinach, Kale or Chard (Chard Creates the Brightest Green Color!)
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk (Or other Nondairy Milk)
  • 1 TBS Coconut Nectar (or Raw Agave, Stevia (1 Packet) or Raw Honey)

Directions

This morning I decided to divert just slightly from my regular frozen fruit stash – I tend to get in the habit of making the same thing over and over if I like it.. and while this is not always a bad thing- When it comes to my morning smoothie the whole point of drinking them was to explore new flavors and to consume a variety of produce. I peaked into my fruit bowl and noticed some very ripe almost forgotten Kiwi’s.  Out came my peeler and into the blender they went. Then of course the peaches joined the party as they are my staple. While some love Bananas I love Frozen Peaches. Their flavor does not overpower others and acts I think as the perfect compliment to everything.  And finally because I feel it is highly important that a heaping handful of greens goes into 99% of the  smoothies that I consume.. in they went.  I was out of my usual Almond Milk So I went with a can of light Coconut Milk.

We enjoyed it.. my husband said this one was his favorite so far. It has a nice tropical flavor.  I threw Bellini into the name as Bellini’s are comprised of Peach Puree..  you COULD throw a little alcohol into this smoothie.. But I’m not suggesting such a thing (also not going to turn you away from the idea) :)

As with my other Smoothie recipes (and all smoothie recipes)  you simply just throw everything into the blender. I provide a suggested Sweetener amount- but please do this to your own taste. And of course throw in supplements if you have some. I added some Flax Meal to ours out of habit. ( It wasn’t bad)  You might consider adding some Coconut (I buy it shredded frozen at my local Indian Grocery Store)

I am so glad to learn that frozen peaches work well. I have been wanting to start drinking green juices to up my veggie content but bananas are included in so many smoothies. I found out when doing my testing for my candida overgrowth that i am highly sensitive to bananas.
Thank you for opening my eyes to new possibiilites.
